Cotton industry is one the most important part in Egypt economy. Egyptian cotton is very famous not only because of its softness, high quality and being ultra-fine but also possessing high strength. On top of all of that, its excellent adsorption makes it one of the best choice for clothing in the world.

Celebrating World Cotton Day on October 7, Egyptian cabinet said cotton production and cultivation in this country raised by 30% to 1.6 million kantars in 2021 attributed to the increasing of global demand of it.

Based on American US Department of Agriculture (USSD) report, the global cotton stock is expected to decrease to 86.7 million bales (each bale equals170 kg) by the end of the year due to the decline of the stocks in China.

India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have imported about 88,452.58 tons of Egyptian cotton from October 2020 to September 2021.

Giza 45 is one of the best quality grade of Egyptian cotton. It represents the highest spinning potential because of its fineness and strength. In general, there are 6 types of Giza in which can be classified in 2 sections:

• Long cotton fibers: Giza 89, Giza 86 and Giza 90 are in this group. These fibers represent a high level of fineness (3-4.9) and length (33 mm) with uniformity index 88%.
• Extra-long cotton fibers: Giza 45, Giza 88 and Giza 87 are in this group. Giza 45 is between the finest cotton fibers. This hand-picked fiber represents the highest level of fiber strength.

Graz cotton grows near the Nile river and because of this special growth condition is more expensive than normal fibers.
