BCF yarn
BCF yarn is produced through the melt-spinning process using polypropylene material. The yarn's key advantage is its dependability, consistency, bulkiness, and lack of shine. These characteristics make it an excellent alternative to acrylic and wool yarns for machine-made carpets and other carpet productions.
Textured polypropylene yarns are commonly referred to as BCF yarns. BCF yarns are large and lack elasticity, making them suitable for products that require high coverage and a large length of yarn. These products include woolen sheets, carpet covering, carpet yarn, floor covering, furniture covering, and other textiles. The use of BCF fibers in carpet production has been increasing.
BCF yarns are a popular choice for machine-made carpets due to their continuous fiber structure, which results in less lint. Moreover, when BCF yarns are heat set, their softness and stability increase. Although polypropylene has poor properties, its low cost is the primary reason for its widespread use. Iran has significant advantages in producing BCF yarns compared to its oil production.
