The difference between polyester filament yarns

polyester filament yarn

polyester filament yarns are classified according to the amount of thread tension and the way polyester fibers are produced as follows:

POY yarns: this type of yarns is a semi-arranged yarn that is produced by melting polyester granules. POY polyester yarn is produced by ordering fiber strands at a speed of 2800 to 4200 meters per minute. These yarns do not have a high degree of crystallization and their general order is such that they can be stored for several months without becoming brittle and changing the shape of the bobbin.

FDY yarns: by performing special processes such as stretching and heat on POY yarn, a product called FDY yarn is produced. FDY yarn refers to a yarn that is completely arranged under heat and stretching treatment. They are most widely used in the circular knitting industry.

DTY yarns: Texturized yarn, using POY raw material with semi- doll and bright transparency, which is produced by texturizing method using virtual warp method. The grade range of production yarns is 75 to 450 denier with the number of filaments 36 to 192. These types of yarns can be produced in a simple and intermingled manner and with different degrees of stabilization in the form of sets and stretches. The use of these threads in clothing includes shirts, bed sheets, curtains, rugs, blankets, carpets, car seat covers, office chair covers, etc.

Stretch yarns: stretch yarns have high resilience properties. This yarn is used in the so called tight clothes like socks.

Set yarns: set yarns have less spring properties and are mostly used in textiles such as pants, coats, etc.

ATY yarns: this type of yarn is textured by compressed air, which is produced with the aim of simulating the appearance of polyester yarn with cotton, wool and acrylic spun yarns. The grade of these yarns is 200 to 3000 denier and can be produced in all kinds of effects and glosses. It can also include a wide variety of colors.

ATY yarns are special warp, weft and carpet yarns with high strength, high and low shrinkage, fancy and lycra, which are used in industrial applications, tricot fabric, machine carpet, travel blanket, sports and fantasy curtains, travel blanket, sport and fantasy carpet, industrial tents, seat cover, geotextile, hose, etc. are used.
